One of the highlights of my summer has been volunteering at This is the Place Park with Joanna. Each year, around the 24th of July, This is the Place throws "Brother Brigham's Ball," keeping with a tradition that Brigham Young used to do every year to commemorate the pioneers coming into the valley. We decided to be ambitious and make circa 1860's ballgowns for the event (actually, Joanna decided to be ambitious and make both of our ballgowns, while I helped cut, pin, etc). I am not a seamstress by any means (but I am slowly learning), so this was a tough project. With Joanna being on vacation for a week, and me going to girl's camp for a week, we only had a few days to completely make the two dresses. I am sure it was so stressful for Joanna! We did it, and they turned out great!
