Priya is two months old!

Saturday, September 26

Poopin' is hard to do...

Priya's grunting... she will be so embarrassed about this someday... nuff said.

Shout out to Joanna...

My Sister-in-law is an amazing seamstress! She made a gorgeous blessing dress for my neice and entered it in the State Fair and took third place. She makes her family's Halloween costumes every year, and she made Priya's blessing dress. She made some amazing princess dresses for my neices (Belle and Sleeping Beauty), but I don't have pictures of those. :(

Baby Parts...

Babies are so cute! There is just something intoxicating about them. Especially all of their little baby body parts, like little fingers and toes. I am posting a few pictures of my favorite Priya parts.

Cute baby toes...

Little baby mouths, especially when they are sucking on their binkie and making cute noises... I'm thinking Maggie Simpson style...

Little fingers...

Belly buttons...

And lastly, little baby bottoms, but I didn't feel it was appropriate to post a picture of that on here...

Priya's first day at church

We took Priya to church for the first time on September 20th. She looked so cute in her little outfit!

"Our State Fair is a Great State Fair..."

"Don't miss it, don't even be late!" Whenever its State Fair time, I always get an urge to watch that movie, or at least break out in musical song! Andrew and I went to the State Fair (Poor Priya stayed at home with Grandma, but I don't think she would have fully appreciated it) and it was so much fun! I don' think there is a better place to people watch or to see so many STRANGE people in the same place. I wanted to take pictures of some of the strange people to post on here, but I guess that would have been rude, huh?

We thought it was funny...

Andrew admiring the fruit

I've always thought the sheep were cute

I think its a little morbid to hang a picture of pork chops at the entrance to the pig tent. Are you supposed to be thinking about how yummy those little pigs are going to taste someday?

Look... they're cuddling.

Sunset the other day

How pretty is that? It's still beautiful, even when pictures never do sunsets justice.

Pregnancy...

Andrew wanted me to post this picture... me in all of my pregnant glory! Mmm... corn dogs...

Wow... I can't believe I was that big! Its great to have her out of there...

Looking at the leaves

We slept over at my grandparent's cabin in Midway on Saturday night. The leaves are just starting to turn colors and it was beautiful! We went for a walk with my mom and Paul. I don't think there are very many things prettier than the mountains in the fall.

Greek Festival 5K

On Saturday, Andrew and Erik ran in the Greek Festival 5K. They both took first in their age group. After the race, we went to the Greek festival. They had such good food! Erik and Andrew bought some lamb Gyros (yuck!) and I got some yummy chicken and some Dolmathes. After the Greek Festival, we walked over to the Farmer's Market for a while. Priya wasn't very interested... she slept almost the entire time!

Doesn't this look like an Olympic picture?

Silver Lake

On Labor Day, we wanted to go for a hike, but with Priya still being so little, we decided to go up to Silver Lake instead because it has a board walk around it and we would be able to bring her in the stroller. We packed a picnic lunch and headed towards the canyon, along with everyone else! It was gorgeous!

We made a chipmunk friend, and Andrew really wanted to have Priya get her picture taken with it... this was the best we could do... LOL.

On the way back down from the canyon, we got stuck for a while because they closed the roads. There were a bunch of ambulances and fire trucks and search and rescue blocking the way. I am guessing that somebody fell or something. It was so fun to get up into the mountains. We really don't take enough advantage of them, especially living so close!

Priya sneezed...

And this is what happened. She will be so embarassed some day to know that I put this on here, but I think we have a few relatives who may get a kick out of it.

Downtown Farmer's market

We went to the Downtown Farmer's market on Saturday. It was so fun! I love looking at all the booths, and food, and crafts. It was Priya's first time going, and she enjoyed it like her mom enjoys ESPN, she slept right through it! Hopefully she will be able to appreciate it more next year! I bought some yummy fresh corn that we barbequed on Saturday night and some eggplant.
We found this awesome lady who makes art pieces of well known Salt Lake City signs. They are so cool. There was a sign of a place called, "Bill and Nada's Cafe." It doesn't even exist anymore, but Andrew used to go there all the time in high school and his mom even worked there for a while. It holds a lot of special memories for him. The building and the sign have been torn down for years. What where the chances that this lady would have a picture? Surprise! Now, if we can only find a place to hang it... Newborn pictures of Priya

Two weeks ago, we had some newborn pictures taken of Priya. Janae Campbell, my cousin Carrie's cousin on other side of the family, took them for us. She took Carrie's pictures for her wedding (they were absolutely amazing) and we just had to have her take some pictures for us. She came out to our house to take all of them. It was great because we didn't have to worry about taking Priya out. She's giving us the rights to our pictures, too, which is awesome because we can print as many as we want and do whatever we want with them! She was amazing and so patient with us, even when Priya pooped on her gorgeous white blanket! I have put a link to her gallery http://gallery.me.com/janaecampbell on the side of my blog. Also, if you want to see more of our favorites from our photo shoot, click on the "Family pictures link" on the side of our blog, underneath the picture of Andrew and I. Once the link opens, scroll down a few posts and you will see them. We posted a bunch of them there!
Pictures of Carrie and Jason:

Wow! I wish she'd been around when I got married!

A lot of effort for one picture...

We met a few weeks ago on August 17th with my dad's side of the family for dinner. My cousin Heidi and her family were in town from Las Vegas, so we wanted to get together. Priya has four second cousins on my dad's side of the family. Heidi has two kids, Megan and Claire, my cousin Ryan has a little boy named Braxton, and my cousin Bryan has a little girl, Presley. Presley wasn't at our dinner, but we decided to get a picture of the four kids who were there. Anyone who has taken pictures of kids knows this process...

And... Tada! The final picture!

Priya's monster from Grandpa

My dad brought this little monster over for Priya the other day. She loves it! I think it is so strange and colorful, Priya can't quite figure it out, so she just stares and stares at it. It is a puppet, too. It is definitely the strangest animal she has seen so far!

Being Fussy...

I mentioned in an earlier post that Priya loves to be held. That is an understatement. She has become super fussy the past week or two. She won't let us put her down! I think her tummy hurts her a lot, and she likes the movement of someone holding her. It is making it very difficult for mommy and daddy to get things done around the house! It has become a little game we play to see if we can trick her into thinking she is being held. We bought a swing, and sometimes she is okay with that. We have a sling we wear around the house with her in it, but after carrying it for a while, our shoulders start to get sore. I am hoping that she isn't colicky and this isn't going to last a long time! But if it does, it will still be so fun!

Andrew tried hanging her sling from a door knob to give us a break, but we couldn't fool her. Andrew figured this little trick out yesterday!

Erik's 16th Birthday

I can't believe that Erik is 16 now! He can date and drive and everything! He asked a girl to homecoming earlier this week. Its hard to think of your brother as being so old when you can remember changing his diapers! It makes me feel old!

For his present, we gave him a dating kit, complete with popcorn, treats, a movie, a Wendy's gift card, a book on CD about dating, and a dating book we made.

Katie has gotten into cake decorating lately, and she is really good at it. Here is the cake she made for Erik...

Priya at Erik's party... she loves to sleep with her arms above her head like this!
