Our last few months have been busy (hence, the lack of time to post). Lacrosse is in full swing, and it takes up a large chunk of our time. Andrew and I have been busy coaching our high school team, trying to get a junior league team running, and fulfilling various Utah Lacrosse Association obligations. It seems like life is a whirlwind from the end of January to the end of May.
Priya has been lucky enough to spend most afternoons with my mom, sister, and my grandma. She loves visiting people and loves playing with them. Priya (and Mommy) are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. The times that Priya does get to come to lacrosse practice with me, she fits right in. Her favorite things to do include blowing my whistle and yelling, "go, go, go!" to the girls, or following me around and picking up cones as I put them down for drills.
We have had a lot of family birthday parties the last few months. I have included some pictures below:
We also celebrated my birthday. It is amazing how quickly time goes by the older one gets. I never thought I would be as old as I am, and yet, I am really not that old, yet. I had a fun birthday weekend. My actual birthday was celebrated with my lacrosse team (a lacrosse game and a team sleepover). On Saturday, I went to a movie with my family, Andrew and I went shopping, and we went out for Indian Food (my favorite). On Sunday, my family got together for dinner (delicious knock-off Cafe Rio salads) and cake. We topped the evening off by opening presents (I was spoiled!) and watching old family movies. What a riot!

Priya is growing so fast! She is almost 2 years old. She is busy as can be, and she keeps mom on her toes! She has her very own personality, and she likes to express her opinions. She loves it when Mom tells her "no," and usually responds by giggling and doing what she shouldn't be doing, anyway. She has no fear of her "time out" chair, and enjoys carrying it around the house. She is such a little tease, and yet, for how exhausperating she can be, mom and dad find it very hard to put on our stern faces!

Priya's new look for photos. I hope she outgrows it soon, or we are going to have a lot of weird pictures.
She is a practical joker, and she enjoys doing anything that she sees as goofy (for example, sticking her finger up my nose right before we took a picture and then laughing hysterically).
She still loves to climb anything and everything. She is obsessed with "upstairs" and "downstairs," and loves to look for stairs in books. Give the kid a curb, and she is happy for an hour.
She is becoming less picky of an eater. She ate cooked broccoli the other day, and mommy and daddy were thrilled. Her absolute dislikes include chicken, potatoes, eggs, and bacon. She is also going through a stage where she does not like syrup, and will not eat pancakes or french toast if it has syrup on it.
Her favorite foods include Craisins, bread, cheese (she LOVES grated cheese in a bowl), cottage cheese, yogurt, strawberries, and (of course) candy.

The first time Priya put her Pooh Bear on her leg like this, she panicked and screamed. After that, she thought it was amusing.
She loves to read books right now, her favorites are "Goodnight Moon," and "There's a Wocket in my Pocket." her favorite movies are still "Where's Spot" and "Curious Buddies."
She is very much into cars, bugs, princesses, and dressing up. She is already starting to play pretend, and had an enthusiastic ride aboard a couch-arm horse the other day.
She has been stringing words together for a while, but my most recent favorite is when she says, "Hi Mommy!"
I am pleased to announce that Priya has not hit or bit anyone or anything in a few months! She has found a more acceptable way of dealing with her feelings... she claps her hands loudly and screams (usually "mine!" which has become one of her new favorite words). I took her to the playground a few weeks ago, and she stood at the bottom, and as kids would go up the ladder, she would clap and scream at them. At least I know she isn't going to get pushed around. Thanks goodness for strong-willed girls. Now, if we can only figure out how to tame her a bit.
Priya sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating, just like Namama (my mom).Priya's favorite store is Costco (she likes it almost as much as Daddy). She even recognizes when we get close to the store and gets excited. I am pretty sure it is one of her favorite words.
And now, for your viewing pleasure... Priya's dancing!
I apologize for how jerky the video is...I'm not sure why it is doing that, but it is still worth the watch!
